ATTACK of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster SNOW GOONS

The title of this post is a great Calvin and Hobbes book by Bill Watterson.

Sadly, it has jack squat to do with this post.

I posted the first round of pictures, and my Aussie friends of various ages said "Oh, how nice." and went on. My father, 55+ years old, looks at the first round and it's like he'd never seen winter before! Pictures of his own house, and he's so giddy he requested more.

So on request, here you go. With thumbnails, click on them to see better picture, yadda yadda. 15 angles of a house and one picture of softball throwing kamikaze trees.

More pictures to come when Hello starts working again.. watch here!

Winter Fun!

It's Thanksgiving time here. Freak snow storm hits Missouri. Millions of Turkeys feared dead, we'll take care of the rest tomorrow. Pictures for now, snide commentary comes later.

Cool grass....

Some dog has a deathwish... Just an hour into the snow and I found this...

And proof I'm not faking it...

Firefox 1.0 baby!!!

So... Herr Didou spammed me before I could even post this. Congrats to him!

Firefox 1.0 is here finally, and I strongly suggest you get it! http://www.mozilla.org Should have the file, but it's under high load right now. If you have firefox 1.0pr or later, though, use the update function! I did that over dialup, and I was done in under 30 minutes. How cool is that? I've heard of people on a big pipe DLing the install file in longer times- so update if you can for their sake and yours! Consider 30 minutes under dialup- even on good days it'd take you longer to DL the full install, and this was done on a heavy day...

The themes will need a few days to update, but they'll be there soon. Everything else is really really spiffy right now. RSS bookmarks, tabbed browsing, popup blocking, and more wait just around the corner for you. Now. Go you and enjoy!

9 more years! 9 more years!

Because parts of this rant are likely to piss off my readers, let me first post this ditty of a link, the inspiration for the title of this post:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2004/11/03/financial1616EST0224.DTL

Now. Let us get into the meat of things. As most of you know, yesterday was this strange little thing in the US that we call the election. Many of you, my fellow readers, are either American or reside in a country in which you get a privledge to vote yourself. A few are deprived, I'm sad you don't get that option, but not much I can do about that.

For this whole routine to make a little sense, you need to know a few things about my life. While I've been looking for a job, I've been working for a gentleman known as Matt Blunt. Pardon me, Governor Elect Matt Blunt. He's a very moderate Republican- many Democrats supported him. It was a close race, but in the long run we pulled it out.

That being said, I'm a very very very moderate Republican. Perhaps so down the middle of the road I can't be called a Republican. However, usually I line up mostly with the Republicans. Considering this, let's look at my choices for President this year. Honestly, they weren't that great. Kerry was a flip flopping git who was weak in many areas, even though he talked a smooth part. Bumbling Bush had his positions solid and lined up in general with my ideas, but not exactly, and certainly has a few scratch marks on his record card too. Nader? Not on our ballot, but he's a retard anyway. Badnarik? He got arrested by the St. Louis police. Do you know how much that takes? They're pretty patient up there, try to be understanding and send you on your way. You don't take a clue, you'll get arrested. He got arrested, guess what that means he has.. that's right, no clue.

So. Matt won in Missouri, and will be our governor. That is highly exciting for me. Bush won the presidential election. Ra, I suppose, but overall I really wish I had a better choice somewhere. We'll work with what we have. Oh, and Michael Moore lost.

4 more years was GWB's campaign 'chant'. In that top link, you'll see that three spammers went to court. One of them got a nice 9 year felony sentence for being a spamming dickhead. GWB won and got 4 more years. I say the spammers should get 9 more years. As soon as we get 18 years per spam conviction, we'll have that shit straightened out in right order. Next on the chop block will be pop up ads, and we'll finish with spyware authors- by then we'll be able to get congress to buy into life sentences. If we're lucky we can get them to coat the bed with that delousing stuff they use in The Shawshank Redemption.

Now that I've finished anything meaningful I might have to say, if you read this please drop me a note. Leave a comment, email me (thegoalieman at gmail dawt com) or drop by on Starchat (Link to a java chat client that takes you straight to my usual room- right here! Just a quick informal survey of who reads.. do I know you or not, is my blog remotely worth a damn or not, etc... Speak the truth, I really don't care if you hate me. ;)

Anyone feel like waiving a banner ?

3D text maker can help you with that. I'm working on one for my blog but nothing breathtaking. Once I have the perfect banner I'll post it here & see the reactions before I actually use it. ;-)
